Purnama and Tilem is a holy day celebrated by Hindus worldwide. Full moon comes every 30 days. Similarly, Tilem celebrated once every 30 days. Purnama is the day when the moon emits a bright light. While Tilem also called dead-month, when a state of darkness. The distance between Purnama and Tilem is at odds of 15 days. Full moon is often identified with the brightness, while Tilem termed the dark.
Hindus have a holiday that is based on sasih / month of Purnama and Tilem. This holy day is celebrated once every 15 days in each month. So it can be concluded within one year Hindus celebrate the feast of 12 times and 12 times Purnama Tilem holidays.
On the day Hindus revere Purnama Chandra Sang Hyang. And at the feast Tilem Hindus revere Surya Sang Hyang.
